  • Center line height from floor (std) 13-1/2" (34.29cm)
  • Speed of cylinder per min. (approx.) 36" (0.9144m)

Features

  • Tension is supplied by the hydraulic cylinder. For easier and faster hook up, the cylinder is in the pulling mode.
  • The portable proof tester does not have an adjustable carriage. The Roberts wire rope grip (literature is attached) serves as the adjustment device for different lengths of slings. A sling 11/2" (3.81 cm) or 2" (5.08 cm) is placed in the grip. As the length needs changing, the sling in the grip is moved to a different position, thereby shortening or lengthening as needed. By turning a longer sling around and testing both ends, up to a 30' (9.144 m) long sling may be tested.
  • Speed adjustment is another feature of the cylinders. It is a very simple item, but by incorporating it into the power unit, we are able to make the cylinder retract at the speed desired.
  • The foundation of this system is the hydraulic power unit. The ability to control the hydraulics at small increments with a constant, steady flow of hydraulic fluid to the cylinder allows us to calibrate to ASTM E-4,  1% , traceable to the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology. Pulsations or fluctuations in pressure will not be tolerated. These pulsations or fluctuations of pressure will be transferred into the load cell and give you erroneous readings on your test data, whether it be a proof test or a break test. The power unit is connected to the test machine by hydraulic hoses. This allows the operator and control unit to be located away from the machine and still have good visual contact.
  • The hydraulic power unit has very sophisticated and accurate pumps and valves for the purpose of adjusting very small increases in pressure and maintaining a very accurate flow. The power unit also has electric valves versus manual valves.
  • For repeat testing, a manual loadlock is furnished at no charge. For testing several items, the operator sets the loadlock on the first test piece. The machine will automatically return to this pressure load each time a new piece is placed into the machine
  • A remote control pendant is furnished at no charge. This allows for safer, faster, and easier hookups.
  • The load measuring system electronic load cell is the heart of the system. The load cell allows the very accurate recording of the load attained during a test. The electronic strain gage load cell is an independent measuring system not tied into the hydraulic system. This load cell system, with two ranges, may be calibrated to 1% of the maximum capacity of the load cell. The load cell will calibrate to ASTM E-4,  1%, traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  • Load cells and gauges are normally calibrated from 10% to 100% of their range. The lower 10% of a range is usually not calibrated. Our Auto Ranging allows calibration from 1% to 100%. The lower limit is at least 1% of the maximum capacity of the machine.
  • The load cell is portable. The load cell is designed to be removed from the test bed and used independently. An example would be load testing an overhead hoist.
  • The separate peak/hold system is an excellent feature, it automatically resets. The peak/hold recall must be manually reset after each use. At times, the last peak could be lost if the peak/recall were not reset before each test. With an automatic system, you never lose the peak of the last test because it automatically resets.
  • RS-232 compatibility allows optional Test Certificate software program to print a computer-generated Test.
